Chart SRS vs EMR Chart

ChartBack to Case Studies

Focused upon servicing the community’s total musculoskeletal needs, Blue Ridge Orthopaedics is dedicated to delivering the highest quality, cost-efficient healthcare. The management team was seeking a way to make its offices more efficient by eliminating paper charts and the need to transport them to and from each office. Blue Ridge Orthopaedic Associates wanted to keep up with emerging technology to digitize patient charts but did not want to impede physician and staff productivity by compelling them to adopt complex, difficult-to-use software applications.

Solution

Blue Ridge Orthopaedic Associates selected SRS Chart Manager™, an easy-to-use solution that provides powerful workflow tools such as messaging, electronic prescriptions, referral order management, integrated transcription services and customized flow sheets with an award-winning clinical document management engine that eliminates the need for paper charts.

“SRS has allowed Blue Ridge Orthopaedics to increase staff efficiency, as well as eliminate the need and costs associated with transporting charts from one location to another,” notes Administrator Mike Timmerman, who clearly recognizes the impact SRS has made on the daily activities of the practice.  “Tracking down lost or misfiled paper charts wasted precious staff resources,” continues Timmerman.  “Now, with a few clicks, a doctor or staff member can locate any patient chart to review clinical data, report test results, view X-rays or follow up on insurance or financial questions.”

Additionally, the SRS messaging feature has helped them decrease physician and medical staff response time to patients, thus increasing the level of patient care.

Implementing SRS has been a positive experience for both the doctors and staff.  “If we had to make the decision again, we would purchase SRS,” states Timmerman.
