SRS Releases Freedom Chart Manager™ Version 5.1: New Features and Enhancements Surpass Market Expectations

MONTVALE, NJ – March 14, 2006 SRS Software, Inc., developer and marketer of one of the most widely used digital chart management systems for healthcare enterprises, today released Freedom Chart Manager™ Version 5.1, further distinguishing the solution to improve productivity, efficiency and profitability for customers nationwide.  This new release clearly continues SRS’ leadership role in setting standards for the industry, with features and interfaces unmatched by other systems.

Key features of Freedom Chart Manager™ Version 5.1 include:

E-Prescribing
Answering the need for streamlined electronic prescribing, the SRS Rx Module 5.1 allows users to choose medications from a list of more than 100,000 drug products available for prescribing in the United States, as well as receive quarterly drug list updates.  Users can print the prescription or fax it to the pharmacy with fax server software.

Security
Responding to heightened concerns regarding patient privacy, the new release incorporates multiple enhancements: User security groups with security enforced across the whole group; added user security privileges; and user log-in passwords that can be controlled by Windows® Server Active Directory.  There is also an automatic SRS time-out after a set period of non-use.

Document Management
Practices are always seeking increased flexibility, and the new multi-select options allow users to choose multiple documents using click and ctrl-click.  Users can now seal and unseal documents, delete or undelete documents, move one or more documents to another tab within the same chart or to the same tab in a different chart.

Messaging
Enhanced internal and external communications are a priority through the enterprise, with Version 5.1 offering innovative features that speed messaging such as user Favorites, Super Favorites and Speed Search.  Transcription services are now tightly integrated into SRS patient charts and automatically routed to doctor inboxes.

Freedom Chart Manager™ Version 5.1 also introduces a FaxBack interface/agreement which allows for one-click prescription faxing and faxing of chart information.  Cardiac Specialists, P.C., a flagship customer of SRS, has already begun using FaxBack: “In the business of medicine, efficiency and accuracy are everything.  SRS’ integration with FaxBack’s faxing software allows my staff to easily and quickly send and receive information with a click of the mouse.  I can’t begin to explain how valuable that is,” says Robert Hendler, FACMPE, Administrator.
